Do Manh Cuong recently dropped his spring-summer 2022 collection, featuring outfits inspired by nature, the ocean.
H'Hen Nie, a top 5 Miss Universe contestant, crosses the runway in a sheer long white gown with floral details while closing the show last Sunday, her train fluttering in the sea breeze.
Cuong's spring and summer 2022 fashion show took place at a beach in southern Ninh Thuan Province.
The entire show was divided into four parts, showcasing four mini-collections made from of different materials and concepts.
The show began with dresses, blazers, shirts and miniskirts made from linen, a natural and lightweight fabric with good absorbent properties ideal for summertime and suited to Vietnam's humid climate.
To ensure quality, he uses imported linen fabrics with modern weaving techniques. Cuong also requested fabrics to be customized by being specially dyed in sky blue, beige brown, rose pink and others.
The second part of the show featured textured, ocean-inspired outfits in vibrant colors.
The designer incorporated many print patterns featuring seashells, fish, coral and other sea creatures.
The main materials used by Cuong in this part are lace and chiffon, which are soft and easy to care for summer fabrics. They also help the wearer feel relaxed, cool and comfortable even in the scorching heat.
If the color palette of the linen collection is basic with pastel colors, the third part of the show features monochromatic silk outfits with prominent colors like pink, blue, yellow, orange, red, purple and others.
In addition to his monochrome outfits, Cuong also mixed many opposing tones on the same design to create bold and eye-catching effects.
These feminine, elegant and classy dresses, shirts and ruched skirts are all made of silk.
The last part of the show features Cuong's limited-edition of white-dominant designs.
According to Cuong, these outfits are aimed at customers who attend big events and have a need to dress prominently with elaborate styling and details. As a result, the prices of these designs are higher.
The collection features dresses with 3D floral details, voluminous sleeveless skirts, wide-sleeved flared skirts, off-shoulder mullet tops, thin lace skirts and others.
The designer applied the method of cutting motifs, creating moderate gaps to make the designs more sexy and trendy.
